Bugac – KecskemétSpend an unforgettable day in the Puszta! We will start our day in Bugacpuszta. It is world-known tourist area, the discovery of this land started in the last century. Lots of famous writer, poet and painter visited Bugacpuszta.
The National Park of Kiskunság was founded in 1975 to protect of the ethnographical values and the mysterious world of the nomadic pastoral life. Protection of the nature preserved such a speciality like Juniper forest, grazing lands of the flat areas decorated with wild flowers, the buildings of the nomadic pastoral life and the grazing native animals. We will arrive at Bugaci Karikás Csárda at 11:30 in the morning. At the entrance of the restaurant you can taste a special Hungarian pasta-soup with a glass of wine. Then you are taken to the „puszta” by horse-carriages to see the main sights: the Shepherd Museum, the stables and the native animal-species. At noon we will see a horse show, which is presented by six Hungarian wranglers. The show includes: - Entry of the wranglers - Introduction of the „Puszta-fiver” - The rush of the wranglers - Silk games of the wranglers (laying, sitting of horses, whip cracking, trashing the mother-in-law, take a sit game, hitting the jar, gallop with full glasses) - Donkey-seating, horse laying - The guests can try to ride on a naked horse After the horse-show we will have lunch with gipsy music in the Restaurant „Karikás Csárda” with a typical Hungarian menu: - Goulash soup cooked in a stew-pot - Chicken slices a’la „Csikós” (with a ragout from green peas, chickens liver, tomato and paprika) with mixed garnish - Seasonal salad - Flaming pancake a’la Bugac with apricot marmalade - Wine unrestricted, sparkling water, coffee. After lunch we will travel to Kecskemét. The city situated in the middle of Hungary in the region of the sandy hills between the rivers Danube and Tisza on the „golden sand”. Kecskemét is a county seat which looks back one more than a six-century-old past. We will visit the most famous buildings and sights of this town (Ornamented Palace, Synagogue, Franciscan or Monk Church, Zoltán Kodály Institute of Music Pedagogy, Big Catholic Church, Piarist Church and Convent, József Katona Theatre). After the sightseeing we will visit at Zwack Fruit Brandy Distillery and Exhibition. In the Zwack House our first station of the exhibition is the old brandy distiller which is today an industry historical relic and the „witches’ kitchen” of the third millenium. Old documents, relics, the story of the tools and bottles of the age show the visitors the Unicum and the „Fütyülõs” Apricot Brandy. The tired visitors can have a rest and clink the most famous drinks of the factory. Finally we travel back to Budapest in the early evening hours. |
