Travel to the famous cave bath of Hungary
Spend a beautiful day in Miskolctapolca and surroundings: cave bath, waterfall and touristic train!

We travel from Budapest to Miskolctapolca, where we can find the cave bath that is a true miracle in Hungary. 30°C natural thermal water has been running in the cave since the 16th century. The cave offers an experience for visitors, who may enjoy medical and wellness services, too. The services of the medicinal compound: hydrotherapy, tangentor, medicinal and refreshing massage, electrotherapy, rheumatological specialist's consultation and sauna We spend 4 hours in this fascinating place, then we have a rest in a restaurant, where we have a lunch with three courses.
In the afternoon we visit Lillafüred that is about 2 kms driving from Miskolctapolca. There we can find the famous Hotel Palace, it was opened in 1930 and quickly became a favourite place of high society. Set in a picturesque valley, the neo-renaissance style castle Hunguest Hotel Palota has magnificent views of the Bukk mountains and Szinva stream. This building is surrounded by a hanging garden and a large park. The breathtaking natural setting offers a beautiful panorama and the River Szinva waterfall rushes beside the building. The park behind the hotel is adorned with ancient trees, well-kept lawns and flowerbeds. The 20-metre high waterfall of the Szinva Stream can be enjoyed as it gushes down from the terraced, or hanging, garden of the Palace Hotel. The three-section rapids is a magnificent sight in summer, but many spectators are also attracted by the ice palace created by the frozen water in winter. The St. István Stalactite Cave can be reached 500 metres from the Palace Hotel. The deepest point of the István Cave, a realm of strangely shaped dripstones, is 55 metres, its length is about 350 metres. Visitors may take a tour lasting about half an hour. Due to the unique quality of its air it has become a therapeutic cave.
Finally we will take a tour by the narrow-gauge train trough the wood. It is also a unique experience. Once it was used to transport lumber and workers. Today, it carries tourists. The narrow-gauge train passes by the first trout farm of the country, the Újmassa forge, and then crosses the highest viaduct of Hungary.
We travel back to Budapest in the evening hours.
